Indian-Fig Prickly-Pear is a tree-like
cactus growing to 15 feet or more in height, with a trunk more than
a foot in diameter. Plants are cultivated or have become naturalized
in warm arid regions throughout the world. Its origin is not known
but is thought to be central Mexico. The pads are spineless or
nearly so. Flowers are yellow, tinged with pink or red, and appear
in late spring to early summer. |
